Unconditional Another, not so much unrequited as unappreciated, love long. He means the world to her. She’s a casual extra thing to him. He fits her in when he can. She plans her whole life around him. No, that’s no way to live...
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Bass and electric lead guitar: John Mitchell. Acoustic lead guitar: John. Harmony vocals: Lynne.
Break My Heart The first of four songs recorded in Nashville for this album. Another twist on Unconditional, only now, at last, she’s finally beginning to stand up to him. He can’t be part time, and expect to tell her what to do. Good Lord! Whatever next?
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Additional acoustic guitar, electric guitar and slide guitar solo: John Kearns. Mandolin: David Russell.
If I Follow The second Nashville recording. At the beginning of a new relationship, especially if you are really keen, you would so like to be able to ask, “Are you going to treat me right?”
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Additional acoustic guitar: John Kearns.
Never A Day Must be that guy from UNCONDITIONAL again. Made such a huge impact, then just ended it. How can she forget something that never had the chance to run its course and come to a conclusion? How do you move on, when there’s no closure?
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Tambourine: Lynne. Bass and acoustic guitar solo: John. Electric guitar solo: John Mitchell.
Oh! Are You There First of three songs Lynne wrote with John for this album. This one was written at a Pagan Festival. Music and words just flowed into place and it was all done in about twenty minutes. A little look at a slightly more spiritual side of life.
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Bass: John. Whistle: Paul Hancock.
Who Says Goodbye At a rehearsal for another band, Lynne was playing with some chords on her guitar. “Give me some words,” she said. “Who says goodbye should be forever?” John suggested. “That works” she said. Next time they got together for a Tudor Lodge rehearsal, they finished the song.
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Bass, keyboard, electric guitars, acoustic guitar solo: John.
Time So Blue The third Nashville song. Those Tennessee musicians really add something.  Running your life can be like writing a song. You try to do the right things, you try to make it work, you try to make it rhyme and give it harmony, but if you get it wrong, no matter how hard you work at it, it just don’t sound right.
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Acoustic guitar solo: John. Additional acoustic and electric guitars: John Kearns. Mandolin: David Russell.
Avalon The third song John co-wrote on this album. The song was commissioned for THE AVALON PROJECT. An organisation dedicated to the responsible development of psychic mediumship. We really wanted to get this right; luckily, they were pleased.
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Keyboard: Ben Humphries.
So We Sit Something charming about that coy behaviour when you don’t yet know each other, and are still teetering on the edge of getting a new relationship started.
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Guitar solo and backing vocals: John.
Put A Little Trust Love is about being there when you are needed. Whether lover, family, or friend, it’s all the same.
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Bass, backing vocals, acoustic guitar solo: John.
Lonely So when you finally do get rid of that guy who’s treated you so badly, but who unfortunately you knew was the only real love of your life, you’re left in a lonely place.
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Mandolin: Lynne. Backing vocals, acoustic guitar solo: John.
Another Song Get it wrong. Put it right. Try something else. Juggle your life. Try to get the balance right. Yes you can get it right, but whatever happens, it’s another story line, another tune, another lyric, another song.
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Bass, lead guitar, backing vocals: John.
Love Sweet Love There are probably not many songs about reincarnation. This is Lynne’s first on the subject. Two people in a difficult love relationship. Then next time round, they meet again as friends, and recognise a rare kind of kindred spirit. This was an unlikely song to get the Nashville treatment but it seems to have worked out well.
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Fiddle, mandolin: David Russell. Additional acoustic, electric and slide guitars: John Kearns.
Now He’s Left Me Sometimes it’s hard to face the world when a relationship has ended. Here we are right in the middle of it all.
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Bass, lead guitar: John.
Now You Are Gone This unusually raunchy song was born out of a riff that came into being when Lynne and a friend were spending an evening strumming guitars and singing songs. Lynne then took the idea and finished it. John Mitchell’s searing electric guitar feels totally right here, bringing the album to a climactic close.
Acoustic guitars: Lynne and John. Bass: John. Electric guitar: John Mitchell.
